01Getting here
You come in through Armenia or Pereira.
The two nearest airports are El Edén, in Armenia (code AXM) and Matecaña, in Pereira (PEI). From Armenia it is about forty minutes by road; from Pereira, around an hour.
We are in Boquía, on the road that climbs from Armenia up to Salento, so you pass us before you reach the town.
By car
Paved the whole way except the last 300 metres, which are unpaved track. There is parking at the hotel.
By bus
The minibus drops you on the main road, just before the Río Quindío. From there it is those same 300 metres on foot. Worth knowing if you are travelling with a wheeled suitcase.
Transfer
Run by third parties and paid separately: it is not included in the rate. If you are arriving with luggage or after dark, it is the easiest way. Write to us and we will arrange it.

02What to pack
Layers, not a coat.
In a single day you can go from needing a jacket to being in shirtsleeves and back again. What works is being able to take things off and put them on, not bringing one very heavy garment.
Clothes in layers
For the cool mornings and the warm middays, without hauling around a coat you will never use.
Comfortable shoes
Ones you do not mind getting wet. Almost everything you will want to do involves walking on dirt.
Sun protection
At this altitude the sun is stronger than it looks, even under cloud.
Something to drink from
A bottle you can refill. You end up walking more than you plan to.
